Speakers: Dr. Ignacio (Nacho) Jarero and Nicolle Mainthow

Ignacio (Nacho) Jarero, Ph.D., Ed, D., is the world pioneer in the provision of EMDR Therapy in a group format in-person and online, AIP-informed Advance Psychosocial Interventions for Trauma-Exposed Populations, and AIP-informed Treatment Intervention Procedures for in-person and remote treatment. For his humanitarian services worldwide, with over 200 deployments working in worst-case scenarios, he received the Francine Shapiro Award, the International Crisis Response Leadership Award, and the Psychotrauma Trajectory Award.

Nicolle Mainthow is the EMDR Mexico Research Department Clinical Director, Humanitarian Emergency ASSYST Response Training (ASSYST-HEART) Trainer of Trainers, a founding member of the EMDR Therapy Think Tank, published researcher, and a contributing author to Group EMDR Therapy: Emerging Principals and Protocols to Treat Trauma and Beyond.

Program Highlights:

  • Gain valuable skills in applying EMDR therapy-derived protocols for Early Intervention after a traumatic event.
  • Learn group and individual evidence-based protocols for an effective and safe treatment intervention
  • Contribute to the collective effort of supporting the Wayanad community.

  • Group and Individual Treatment Interventions for Trauma Relief Using the Acute Stress Syndrome Stabilization (ASSYST) procedures.

Target Audience

  • All EMDR practitioners who have attended/ completed Part 1 and/or Part 2 of the EMDR training and have basic knowledge about Standard EMDR Therapy Protocol

An E- certificate will be provided for the attendance of the workshop.

Volunteers will be known as the member of Trauma Recovery Network of EMDR Association India/EMDR Asia and will be offered a remuneration for logistical support to visit Wayanad subject to following terms and conditions:

  • Volunteers will participate in an intervention program in the affected area of Wayanad, Kerala as and when it is organized.
  • This will be Pro Bono services as part of Humanitarian work in the field.
  • Volunteers will participate in any research project planned and assist in data collection for the same. The data thus collected will belong to EMDR Association, India.
  • The prospective volunteers will be expected to offer a minimum of 10 hours of intervention services in the affected region.
  • Volunteers will submit a report of the humanitarian assistance provided by them. This report is to be certified by the in charge of the program.
  • An E- certificate will be provided for the volunteering.

The money collected by EMDR Association will be used to support the volunteers who will go to Wayanad (transport in Kerala, boarding and lodging)
