EMDR Association – India in collaboration with EMDR Asia therefore announces a One and a half-Day EMDR Basic/ Standard Refresher Training for EMDR trained Therapists from Asia to take them through the latest updates, developments & changes in the theoretical and practice methods in the Basic/ Standard trainings of EMDR Part 1 & Part 2.

THE PAST IS THE PRESENT
EMDR trainings in India began in 1999 and were conducted by EMDR Institute, Trauma Recovery/HAP, Trauma Aid or EMDR Europe. Since 2012, Indian trainers conducted them with support from Trauma Recovery (Humanitarian Assistance Program/HAP) and EMDR Institute. With the establishment of EMDR Asia, the focus was on capacity building. This brought Asian leaders of EMDR together and gradually and steadily we now have a strong team of trainers and consultants in several parts of Asia. EMDR Asia has its own training standards, which match any global standards internationally. As a result, Indian trainers are now leading the way not only in India but Asia as well. EMDR Asia now conducts trainings by Asian trainers with stringent standards of excellence.
Over the years, the manuals have changed and got refined. EMDR scripts have changed in theory and practice over the last 30 years. It is time to embrace these changes and update ourselves.
What does this mean?
EMDR Association – India in collaboration with EMDR Asia therefore announces a One and a half-Day EMDR Basic/ Standard Refresher Training for EMDR trained Therapists from Asia to take them through the latest updates, developments & changes in the theoretical and practice methods in the Basic/ Standard trainings of EMDR Part 1 & Part 2.
Participants will have the opportunity to work with the most updated Training Manuals and have an opportunity to learn the latest methods practiced currently.
During this Orientation workshop, theoretical updates as well as experiential learning experiences will strengthen and equip the participant to incorporate the changes over the years which have been introduced, revised and practiced.
This refresher training will focus on following parts of the theory and group practicum of EMDR Basic Training manual:
Part 1
- Updated AIP core concepts as detailed in the latest EMDR Therapy Basic Training Manual (2023) by the EMDR Institute, including new additions and modifications.
- Group practicum review with revised protocols.
Part 2
- Updates from Part 1, along with a revision of case conceptualization and treatment planning for complex clinical presentations.
- Highlights on using EMDR with special populations.
- Group practicum review.
Eligibility criteria
- Participants who have completed EMDR training in India over the last 25 years (criteria for other Asian countries will be at the discretion of the parent organization).
- International participants are eligible only with permission from their respective organizations.
- Only Asian practitioners residing in Asia are eligible.
Note: The Registration for the EMDR Asia practitioner’s membership will be initiated for those who have received the certificate of completion from EMDR Europe affiliated Trauma Aid, up to 2016. EMDR Asia and its associated EMDR Institute and Trauma Recovery/ Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP) from the year 2000 and till now
